U of M Medical Center Pediatric Transplant/VAD/MCS Support Group
We are up and running to support parents with children who have had or are waiting for a heart transplant. This is a weekly support group each Thursday at noon.
Hosted by the UMMC staff, the support groups are open to families of pediatric patients who are being evaluated for, have been listed for, or have received a heart transplant or a VAD/MCS device at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.
The hope for the group is to create room for members to share their personal experiences and offer one another emotional comfort and moral support. Practical advice and tips to help you cope with your situation will also be discussed.
Benefits of participating may include: Feeling a sense of shared journey, less isolation, gaining self understanding, and gaining a new community to name a few.
