Wednesday, September 9th – Cardiac Cath Lab Insights with Dr. Alan Berger
Have you ever wondered what is really going on while you’re on your back in the cath lab experiencing strange sounds and sensations? Dr. Berger, a cath lab cardiologist, will illustrate and discuss angiograms and heart catheterizations, explaining the details and significance of these common procedures within our patient community.
Wednesday, October 14th – CBD, Medical Marijuana and Dietary Supplements for Heart Transplant and LVAD/MCS Patients
We’ve heard many questions on this topic. A Fairview Specialty Pharmacist will join us to discuss some of the commonly used remedies in today’s society. They’ll explain the positive and negative impacts these alternatives may have on heart transplant and LVAD/MCS individuals.

Wednesday, November 11th – The Guest You Didn’t Invite for the Holidays: COVID-19
Dr. Cogswell’s COVID-19 June webinar was such a success we’re expanding this one to 90 minutes. Dr. Cogswell will provide an update of the latest medical insights regarding COVID- 19 for heart transplant and LVAD/MCS patients and their families. She will then be joined by M Health Psychologists Drs. Bearman and Palmer along with Second Chance board member Jane Johnson, LMFT, RN. (Jane is also the mother of heart #933.) They will discuss ideas and take questions about how you can apply the latest COVID-19 information while preparing for family holidays and our long winter season.

Curious about a currently popular diet? What are your favorite holiday food traditions? Katie Kondziolka, Registered Dietitian from M Health will join us to present diet and nutrition ideas. She will discuss the latest diet trends, and suggestions for when to splurge and creative ways to eat healthier as we enjoy our holiday season. Questions are welcome!
